Vacation Cruise

When thinking of a day cruise why restrict yourself to the area to which you currently live. What if you were on vacation somewhere and decided it would be a beautiful adventure to spend at least one of your vacation days sailing on the water and experiencing wonder food and people on board.

If you are vacationing over seas you may want to consider going to Greece and taking a Three Island day cruise. There are many, many travel agencies who can book you a cruise to the Three Island in Greece. In fact, many of the cruise ships are quite large and can carry hundreds of passengers.

Expect your day to look something like this; a van will pick you up at your hotel in the early morning and take you to a central location. From there you will be taken to the harbor where you will board your cruise liner. You shouldn’t be aboard too long before you set sail. Drink in the air, the sky and the beauty of Greece’s coast as you make your way to your first port of call.

You will have 3-4 ports of call during the day. As the day deepens into the afternoon there will be a stop where you will have the option of taking a bus tour to a special Grecian site that many tourists would not normally get to. For example, in the city of Aegina there is an ancient structure known as the Temple of Aphaia. These types of tours can be well worth the extra money as they could very well give you the highlight of your trip.

On the way back to the main region of Greece the mood on the cruise liner will have changed. The excitement of the day will turn to something more reflective and the cruise line company will understand this. So in keeping with this shift in mood, there will often be live entertainment. A local singer and band will serenade you or a comedian will keep you giggling through the evening. Of course you will have the chance to do some Greek folk dancing (plate breaking not included!).

If you have not visited Greece before it may be a good idea to have some understanding of their culture. Greeks are unlike other cultures as they are descendants of an ancient land and noble people. You will find they are a very talkative bunch and not inhibited at all. There seems to be an inquisitive nature to the Greeks and most are very curious.

The best way to learn about the Greek culture is to dine at one of the many fantastic local restaurants and begin talking with the staff or Greek patrons. The culture is very open and you will most assuredly be chatting up a local Greek in no time at all. They will be curious and interested in you as well. This is culture that wants to connect with others.

However, they are respectful if you decide you no longer want to engage. It won’t take much for the Greeks figure out you do not want to talk and they will leave you alone. So spend a bit of time in one of the local restaurants or bar and start up a conversation with one of the locals. It could prove to be fascinating to find out a little bit about a Greek’s daily life.
